Rules & Regulations for Students
- Every student is required to possess and read the school Handbook (Prospectus, Diary and Calendar) which must be brought to school every day. Ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as an excuse.
- Students must be present every day for the Morning Prayer and Assembly at 9.00 A.M. in time. Even if, residing far from school, no excuses will be accepted for persistent late coming. Habitual late comers will have to return home and incidence of coming late for more than three times in a month will invite a fine of Rs. 50/-
- Students who come to school before 9.00 a.m. should sit in their respective classes and spend the time in silent and useful study. No student should be found loitering or idling away his/her time during the study hour. Prompt and alert to the bell, promptly and immediately walk in silence in a single line keeping to the left.
- Strict silence in the classrooms and orderliness in the verandahs is to be maintained during school hours.
- Preparing daily lessons, Home and class assignments must be the prime duty of every student. They are expected to be diligent in study and work and submit all assignments in time.
- Students must refrain from entering the other classrooms / restricted workrooms and staffrooms, prohibited areas and no entry zones / places within the school without prior permission.
- No student is allowed to leave the school during working hours without the written permission of the principal.
- School closes at 3.40 P.M. After class hours no student is expected to remain on the campus. Students who stay back for Sports Practice/Special Classes/Rehearsals etc. have to leave the school campus by 4.45.P.M.
- Students must be polite in their speech; courteous in manner and gentle with one another. They are expected to grow in refined, mature conduct and self-discipline. They must respect all their teachers / administrative and support staff and co-operate with the School Leaders, House Captains and Class Prefects.
- Personal hygiene and cleanliness is expected from every student. Littering waste and garbage in the classrooms/corridors/field will cost a fine of Rs. 10/- per student and Rs.50/- per class.
- Everyone is expected to speak English in school. Students violating this regulation of the school will be subjected to disciplinary action and fine up to Rs. 50/-
- Pupils must come to school with all that is required for day’s work. Borrowing or lending of pencils, pens, instruments box etc. is discouraged.
- No one is allowed to bring to school any object which would prove a source of distraction. Students must not bring razor blades, knives or other harmful objects to school. The use of pencil sharpeners is recommended.
- Care of school property and cleanliness of the school premises is the duty of the students. They are asked not to deface the walls or ruin the furniture. Dustbins and baskets are provided for waste paper. Damage to school property or premises has to be paid for.
- No books, newspapers or magazines other than those needed for class work will be allowed without permission from the principal. Slam books are strictly forbidden.
- Students who lose library books or break laboratory equipment will have to make good the loss. They also must pay for damaged, defaced, loss of pages, mutilation and any other damage discovered on return of books and articles as per actuals.
- Students must look after their own belongings / cycles. The school is not responsible for lost articles.
- Cell phones, any kind of electronic gadgets and valuable articles are strictly prohibited in the school premises. If a student is found in possession of any such article, he/she is liable to be suspended from school. The management/Faculty has the right to check the belongings of any student in case of suspicion.
- The students shall not entertain strangers / visitors in the school premises at all times.
- Idleness, inattention to class teaching and class work, irregular attendance, indulgence in any behavior calculated to disturb his/her fellow students, physical assault, unhygienic habits, disobedience or defiance of the authority of the teachers, telling lies, any form of offence against morality or any act that goes against the good order of the school is punishable.
- Students indulging in immoral acts of any kind, acts against public sanitation, resorting to violence, acts calculated to cause public nuisance, public disturbance, communal troubles or breach of public peace will constitute a major offence against discipline.
- The consequences of offenses mentioned in No. 20 and No. 21 will result in a fine up to Rs. 300/-, suspension from the school for a period of 20 days, cancellations of all awards/concessions, forfeiture or withdrawal of scholarships and concessions attached to any scholarship for a period or for the whole tenure, if the offender happens to be an awardee or a scholarship holder.
- Students must be present for all the activities/programmes/functions conducted by the school. They must be regular and punctual. Habitual absence and disobedience justify dismissal.
- In case of absence without prior permission student must have reason for absence entered in Absence Record and signed by the parent / guardian. High school student must produce a leave letter, duly signed by the parent / guardian.
- Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence for more than 5 days, habitual idleness, dishonesty or any kind of misconduct within and outside the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of the pupil.
- Student must attend seminars, workshop, orientation programmes and Special classes on Saturdays / holidays or whenever they are arranged by the school. Absenting from these sessions without a genuine reason will result in serious action and a fine up to Rs. 100/-
- All students are expected to attend school on the re-opening day after every vacation. No one will be allowed to leave on vacation earlier than the day on which the school closes. Absentees on the re-opening day after every vacation (Summer, Dasara, Christmas) will be charged a fine of Rs. 100/-, unless they have a genuine reason. In case of sickness / emergency/ tragedy, parents must inform the Principal/ Class teacher at the earliest and produce a leave letter/medical certificate for exemption from the fine.
- If a student is likely to be absent for more than 5 days due to illness/crisis, the Principal must be informed immediately.
- No child suffering from infectious or contagious disease will be permitted to attend school, unless she produces a medical certificate, stating that she is free from infection.
- If a student is suffering from any serious/ chronic illness, the parents have to bring it to the notice of the Principal and Class teacher without delay. Parents have to leave details of what measures are to be taken/ medicines to be given/ emergency contact number/ with the Principal in case any emergency arises, failing which the school will not be held responsible.
- A Medical Certificate and relevant records are to be submitted for exemption from Sports, games, campus activities picnics etc.
- No student or staff member will be called to the telephone during school hours. Urgent messages, however, will be conveyed to them.
- Every student is expected to carry packed lunch or buy lunch from the school canteen. No student will be allowed to leave the school premises during the lunch break without the Gate Pass.
