I take great pride in informing the Charlian Family, that a new scholarship entitled ‘Chaya Murthy and Madhukar Govindaraju Girls' Education Endowment Scholarship’ has been sponsored by Mrs. & Mr. Madhukar Govindaraju from this academic year.
Mr. Madhukar Govindaraju, an alumnus, graduated from Seventh Standard, from the portals of our prestigious institution, in the year 1978-79. Growing up in a family of teachers, he genuinely believes that the right to education is one of the most important fundamental rights for every child, especially a girl child. Financial constraints should not be a roadblock in achieving holistic education and so Mrs. & Mr.Govindaraju have decided to extend this scholarship to 5-6 economically weaker section of the students, based on their academic credentials.
Both Mrs. &Mr. Govindaraju started their lives from very humble beginnings and continue to live a simple lifestyle in the United States of America. Madhukar and his wife Chaya, have been blessed with two boys and so this scholarship programme is to foster and celebrate the academic excellence of our girls, to enable them to achieve successful careers in life and to soar to great heights. This humble gesture of helping our students financially is his way of being grateful and giving back in a very small way to his Alma Mater.
